Four pipes: separate cold and hot water supply pipes and return pipe systems (the four pipes are connected to air-conditioning equipment in the figure), and the inlet and outlet pipes are equipped with conversion control valves, which are mainly used throughout the year for the air-conditioning system. The heat source is used, and the amount of cold and hot water is adjusted through the temperature control valve to control the switch valve. Three-pipe and four-pipe systems are generally used in air-conditioning systems with special needs due to high investment and operating costs.
Four-pipe air-conditioning means that the air-conditioning box is equipped with cold and hot coils at the same time. Each set of coils enters one time, a total of four, so it is called four-pipe. Two sets of water pipes are connected to cold water and hot water respectively, that is, cooling and heating can be switched at any time throughout the year, which can realize heating in some rooms while cooling in other rooms. It is suitable for high standards and low cost. It is tall and occupies a lot of space, but it can be used as a floor or ceiling connection/direct air outlet.
During the operation throughout the year, the air conditioning system that frequently alternates between cooling and heating conditions or needs to be used at the same time should adopt a four-pipe water system.
