Revolutionizing HVAC: Next-Generation Multi-Subsystem Cooling, Heating, and Water Management Systems

When the air-conditioning system is large and divided into multiple subsystems, balanced water supply is ensured by installing water distribution manifolds and collection headers in the chilled water system.

Expansion Tank Function: The expansion tank prevents water pressure fluctuations caused by changes in pipe diameter due to thermal expansion and contraction, and it replenishes the system's water volume. It is installed at the bottom, connected to the return water pipe. An automatic air vent is provided at the highest point of the system, and a drainage device is installed at the lowest point.

Chiller Unit Installations: Water-cooled chiller units are typically installed in basements or separate buildings, while air-cooled chiller units are usually located on building roofs or outdoor ground surfaces.

Air-Conditioning Chilled Water System: This system comprises the circulating pipes, pumps, instruments, and accessories between the chiller unit and the air handling unit. The chilled water system typically operates with a supply temperature of 5–9℃ and a supply-return water temperature differential of 5–10℃; commonly, the supply temperature is 7℃ and the return temperature is 12℃, yielding a differential of 5℃.

Air-Conditioning Hot Water System: The hot water system operates at a supply temperature of 40–65℃ with a supply-return water temperature differential of 4.2–15℃; typically, the supply temperature is maintained at 60℃ with a 10℃ differential. Air-Conditioning Condensate System: This system refers to the piping that directs condensate from the drain outlet of the drip tray-formed during the cooling and dehumidification process of air handling equipment in summer-into the drainage system.

Air-Conditioning Cooling Water System: It includes the circulating pipes, pumps, instruments, and accessories between the water-cooled chiller unit and the cooling tower.

Packaged Air-Conditioning Unit: This unit is composed of various functional sections that enable multiple air treatment processes.

Ductwork and Air Diffusers: The air-conditioning system's ductwork must be insulated, with the insulation thickness meeting design requirements. Air diffusers play a key role in distributing airflow and controlling its direction within the system. During design and installation, careful attention should be paid to the architectural harmony and the organization of indoor air circulation.
